Mentor Program

The Mentor Program provides medical students with a caring, competent physician role model with whom to develop a substantive, durable relationship. Students in groups of 6 or 7 will meet with their mentor during the first two years. Students also do observations of their mentors practicing medicine. Clinical observations and readings serve as stimuli for discussion of six components of professional behavior: competence, professional responsibility, respect for others, compassion, honesty, and social responsibility. The program has flexibility to allow each mentor group to pursue their own unique interests in medicine.
