Why Medicine?
Medicine allows me to constantly learn and to be continually challenged. There are a vast number of possible career paths one can pursue through medicine, making it a gateway to the health care industry. Medicine also affords me the ability to interact with those different from yourself and learn from others.
Why CHM?
I was really attracted to CHM's mission of serving the underserved and those who have been marginalized by the current health care system.
About Year II
Year II allows you the ability to exercise independent learning as well as group learning, two of the key features necessary to be a good physician in the future. By interacting with preceptors in our pre-clinical years, we are also given a flavor for clinical medicine.
On Small-Group Learning
Small-group learning facilitates confidence as well as tolerance. There is immense value in having multiple viewpoints and thinking about the same problem from different perspectives.
